Purbavi Basu ( born 21 September , 1949 ) is a Bengali scientist and feminist commentator, essayist, poet and novelist. He focused on feminist meditation and communal harmony in his writings. The number of his books is 40. He received the Ananya Literary Award in 2005 and Bangla Academy Award in 2014 for his contribution to literature. Purbi was born on September 21, 1949 in a Hindu family of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh ), Munshiganj district . His father was a renowned doctor of Munshiganj. She is the younger of the three sisters. An intelligence story written in the fourth grade was printed in the wall. From his childhood, Bankim composed the book, Sarat Chandra wrote the book. Dad started writing with enthusiasm. In a local daily newspaper of Munshiganj, Kachikogara's Asr, seven brothers, Champa, Khelaghar etc. were writing on the children's page. Gradually started writing on older pages and in various journals. In 1959, his stories were published on the Daily Pakistan (current Dainik Bangla) literature page, edited by Ahsan Habib .
