Shamsur Rahman (born October 23 , 1929 , Mahattuli , Dhaka - Death: August 17 , 2006 ) One of the leading poets of Bangladesh and modern Bengali literature. In the second half of the twentieth century, he established his greatness and popularity in Bengal. He was a citizen poet. His poems written on Bangladesh's freedom struggle are very popular.After the five great poets of the late twentieth century, he is famous as the head of modern Bengali poetry. Only Poet Al Mahmud of Bangladesh and Poet Shakti Chattopadhyay of West Bengal are said to have signed comparative poetry in the second half of the 20th century. The introduction of modern and modern-day poetry with modern poetry began in 1949 , and his first published poem was printed in 1949 in the weekly weekly ' Sonar Bangla' .
