Kazi Nazrul Islam (May 24, 1899-August 29, 1976) (Jyot 11, 1306-Bhadra 12, 1383 BS ) was one of the most popular leading Bengali poets, novelists, dramatists, musicians and philosophers of the twentieth century who pioneered the role of Bengali poetry.
