Rafiq Azad ( February 14 , 1941 - March 12 , 2016 ) A Bangladeshi modern poet In 2013 he received Ekushey Padak in literature . He participated in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War . He is recognized as one of the chief poets of the sixties. He edited several literary works and also made a government job in livelihood.Rafiq Azad was born on 14 February 1941 in an aristocratic family of Guni village under Ghatail thana of Tangail district . His father Salimuddin Khan was a real social worker and mother Rabeya Khan was an ideal housewife. He is the youngest of two brothers and sisters. In reality they were three brothers or two sisters. But before his birth, the eldest brother Mawla and his sister Khuki died. Rafiq Azad, when he was born in the mother's womb, was named after his elder brother, the late brother, 'life'. Rafiq Azad is another name for 'life'.Rafiq Azad was the editor of the monthly literary magazine Succession from Bangla Academy from 1972 to 1984 . On Sunday, Rafiq Azad did the editorship of his name in the paper. He was the lecturer of Bangla of Maulana Muhammad Ali College of Tangail.
