Salek Uddin is a Bangladeshi writer. He is a lyricist, playwright, storyteller and columnist. He was born on 24 May 1960 in the village Suruj of Tangail Sadar of Tangail district. His father's name is Rokan Uddin and his mother is Syeda Salma Akter. Maulvi Naim Uddin, the first complete Bengali translator of the Holy Quran, is his grandfather. Salek Uddin started primary education from BS Bishesswry Primary and Junior High school. He passed SSC from Shivnath High School in Tangail District Sadar in 1976 and HSC from Sadat University College in 1988. He passed BA in 1980 from Ghatail Brahmman Shashan College. In his career he was a banker. He started a job in Grameen Bank and completed 4 years, from 1980-1984, at the beginning of Grameen Bank and for 32 years, from February 1984 to August 2015, at City Bank Limited. He passed MA in Bengali Literature from Asian University of Bangladesh in the year 2007 and stood as gold medalist. Salek Uddin, a life member of Bangla Academy.
