Abdul Hai Shikder (born 1957)  is a prominent poet , essayist and journalist of Bangladesh .  He is also united in almost all the angles of literature and culture. But as a poet he was well-known. The holder of humanity , independence , nationalist sentiment has always been the voice of exploitation-free society, the sovereignty of Bangladesh and the nationalism of Bangladesh. For this reason, on 25 September 1996 , poets were attacked by terrorists, but he was uncompromisingly on the question of the country's sovereignty and nationalism. In his writings, poet Abdul Hai Shikdar is also said to be a poet of 'Nation of the Nation' due to the declaration of the nationality of Bangladesh. He played an important role in the media in search of national history and heritage. His popularity in Bengali Television was published by the magazine "Kathamala".

Poet Abdul Hai Shikder was born on January 01 , 1957  was born on the bank of Dakkhkumar in Bhurungamari upazila of Kurigram in the South Chhat Gopalpur village. His father Wazed Ali and mother Halima Khatun. His father was a agriculturist. Both of his parents were students of Assam's Maulana Bhashani's Assam life. 

Abdul Hai Shikder finished his first year of education, village school, Bhurungamari High School, Rangpur's Carmichael College . He completed his graduation in 1979 under the University of Rajshahi . And after a long pause in the University of Mary Mary's University, from 2006 in Bengali literature and an MA degree.

আবদুল হাই শিকদার (জন্মঃ ১৯৫৭ সাল) বাংলাদেশের একজন বিশিষ্ট কবি, প্রাবন্ধিক এবং সাংবাদিক।  সাহিত্য-সংস্কৃতির প্রায় সকল অঙ্গণে তাঁর রয়েছে সরব পদচারণা। তবে কবি হিসেবেই তিনি সমধিক পরিচিত। মানবতা, স্বাধীনতা, জাতীয়তাবাদী চেতনার ধারক এই কবির মুখে সবসময় ধ্বনিত হয়েছে শোষণমুক্ত সমাজ, বাংলাদেশের সার্বভৌমত্ব এবং জাতীয়তাবাদের কথা। এজন্য ১৯৯৬ সালের ২৫ সেপ্টেম্বরে কবি সন্ত্রাসী হামলার শিকার হলেও দেশের সার্বভৌমত্ব ও জাতীয়তাবাদের প্রশ্নে তিনি ছিলেন আপোষহীন। তার লেখনীতে বাংলাদেশের জাতিসত্ত্বার কথা প্রকাশ পাওয়ায় কবি আবদুল হাই শিকদারকে 'জাতিসত্ত্বার কবি'ও বলা হয়ে থাকে। জাতীয় ইতিহাস ও ঐতিহ্য অণুসন্ধানেও গণমাধ্যমে তিনি পালন করেছেন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা। বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশনে প্রচারিত তার শিকড় সন্ধানী ম‌্যাগাজিন অণুষ্ঠান "কথামালা" তাকে এনে দেয় ব‌্যাপক জনপ্রিয়তা। 

কবি আবদুল হাই শিকদার ১৯৫৭ সালের ০১ জানুয়ারীতে কুড়িগ্রামের ভুরুঙ্গামারী উপজেলার দুধকুমার নদীর তীরে দক্ষিণ ছাট গোপালপুর গ্রামে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তার পিতা ওয়াজেদ আলী এবং মা হালিমা খাতুন। তার পিতা ছিলেন একজন কৃষিবিদ। তার পিতা-মাতা দুজনই ছিলেন মজলুম জননেতা মওলানা ভাসানীর আসাম জীবনের ছাত্র।

আবদুল হাই শিকদার প্রথম জীবনের লেখাপড়া শেষ করেন গ্রামের স্কুল, ভুরুঙ্গামারী হাই স্কুল, রংপুরের কারমাইকেল কলেজ-এ। তারপর রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অধীনে ১৯৭৯ সালে বাংলায় স্নাতক সম্মান সম্পন্ন করেন। তারপর দীর্ঘ বিরতির পর শান্ত মরিয়ম বিশ্ববিদ‌্যালয় মরিয়ম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে ২০০৬ সালে বাংলা সাহিত্যে এম.এ ডিগ্রী অর্জন করেন।
