Harishankar Zaldas (born October 12, 1955) is a novelist in Bangladesh . He wrote multiple novels . He has done further research on Jeelijeben and wrote multiple books. In 2011, he received the first prize of the book award of the year in the creative section .In his writings, the story of zeiliban and their struggles have largely gained prominence.

Harishankar Jaldas was born on 12 October 1955 in a fisherman's village of North Patenga village of Chittagong . His childhood and adolescence was spent in Patenga Kaiyarapara.  He received primary education in a village post-school. He is the first high school student of Jailpara. His father was a Jaldhta Jaldhta Jaldhas profession in jail. Yudhishthira sent him to school after seeing the dynasty's first educated dream. In his childhood, the dream of becoming a primary school teacher to meet the shortage of the family, Professor Dr. Harishankar Pirdas

Debendra Lal Dey's education school, known as Adabasara , two miles away from the village, started its education with elementary education. He was admitted to Patenga High School in 1966 , studying up to the sixth grade to the tenth grade and passed the SSC examination in 1971 (in 1972) . Then he studied at Chittagong College and Chittagong University . He obtained PhD in 1982 from the Bangla Department of Chittagong University, after researching 'River-based Bangla novel and Kaivarta Janabiban' .

হরিশংকর জলদাস (জন্ম: অক্টোবর ১২, ১৯৫৫) বাংলাদেশের একজন ঔপন্যাসিক। তিনি একাধিক উপন্যাস লিখেছেন। জেলেজীবনের উপর তিনি উচ্চতর গবেষণা করেছেন এবং লিখেছেন একাধিক বই। ২০১১ সালে তিনি সৃজনশীল শাখায় প্রথম আলো বর্ষসেরা বই পুরস্কার পেয়েছেন।তার লেখায় মূলত প্রাধান্য পেয়েছে জেলেজীবন এবং তাদের সংগ্রামের গল্প।

হরিশংকর জলদাস ১৯৫৫ সালের ১২ অক্টোবর চট্টগ্রামের উত্তর পতেঙ্গা গ্রামের এক জেলে পল্লিতে জন্ম গ্রহণ করেন। তার শৈশব এবং কৈশোরের পুরোটা কেটেছে পতেঙ্গার কৈবর্তপাড়ায়। গ্রামের পাঠশালায় তিনি প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা লাভ করেন। তিনি সেই জেলেপাড়ার প্রথম হাইস্কুল পড়ুয়া ছাত্র। তার বাবা যুধিষ্ঠির জলদাস পেশায় ছিলেন জেলে। বংশের প্রথম শিক্ষিত বানাবার স্বপ্ন দেখে যুধিষ্ঠির তাকে স্কুলে পাঠান। শৈশবে পরিবারের অভাব মেটাতে প্রাইমারি স্কুলের শিক্ষক হওয়ার স্বপ্ন দেখতেন বর্তমানে বাংলার অধ্যাপক ড. হরিশংকর জলদাস।

গ্রাম থেকে দুই মাইল দূরে আদাবস্যার নামে পরিচিত দেবেন্দ্রলাল দে'র পাঠশালায় প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা দিয়ে শিক্ষাজীবনের শুরু। তিনি পতেঙ্গা উচ্চবিদ্যালয়ে ১৯৬৬ সালে ভর্তি হয়ে ষষ্ঠ থেকে দশম শ্রেণি পর্যন্ত অধ্যয়ন করে ১৯৭১ (পরীক্ষা হয় ১৯৭২ সালে) সালে এসএসসি পাশ করেন। এরপর চট্টগ্রাম কলেজ ও চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়াশোনা করেন। চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বাংলা বিভাগ থেকে তিনি ‘নদীভিত্তিক বাংলা উপন্যাস ও কৈবর্ত জনজীবন’ বিষয়ে গবেষণা করে ১৯৮২ সালে পিএইচডি ডিগ্রি লাভ করেন।
